AUDIENCE FEEDBACK:
http://laureneasticka2media.blogspot.co.uk/2017/04/poster-magazine-and-trailer-feedback.html
Location
We originally filmed the equilibrium scenes at the house location but decided to discard this foortage as it didnt not look professional, the lighting was off and we figured it would make more scense to film at the Kings Head Pub. However, the scene of blowing out the candles was filmed at the house.

POSTER, MAGAZINE AND TRAILER FEEDBACK
In order to collect the audience feedback, we showed our trailer in college to the rest of the class (who are of our target audience’s age). Everybody used a small piece of paper to write three improvements and three things they liked about the trailer. To collect feedback for my poster and magazine, I printed them both out and showed them around my media class to ask people their thoughts on what I could improve and what they thought worked well. Whilst they were talking I wrote what they said on a notepad before typing these up too.

Draft Horror Magazine
This is the draft version of my horror magazine cover. I think that it is very dull and boring. I will add more eye-catching features that will draw in the audience and encourage them to watch the film. I think I need to change elements of the magazine to make it look scarier which will enhance look of the horror genre.
Draft Horror Poster
This is the draft version of my horror poster. I think I need to improve this poster by adding more text but making it smaller. I am not happy with the font I have used for the title and I think it could look scarier, to fit the horror theme. I think that changing these elements will help make my poster look more professional therefore will make it more successful at attracting viewers.
Response to Audience Feedback
We received some highly positive feedback from the audience after our first screening of the trailer. They (the audience) thought we had really effective range of shot types, in particular the underwater shots, which we wanted to stand out as an eye-catching and unusual factor of our trailer. Another aspect of the trailer which people enjoyed was the fast pace of the trailer. We are pleased with this feedback because we spent a lot of time ensuring we had a wide range of action shots to build up the pace of the trailer; so that when it came to editing we could use the action along with sound effects to build suspense and tension; therefore, we are glad this aspect has paid off.
As well as positive comments we also received very helpful constructive criticism. For example, it was suggested to us to try shorten the equilibrium section of the trailer; this was helpful to us because once we, analysed that section we realised that actually some of the shots could be shortened whilst still making sense and giving the effect- in terms of helping establishing the storyline- we wanted to achieve. Another comment made which was helpful to us was to add institutional data, such as titles and the date of release. Of course we realise that this is necessary to our trailer, we just haven't yet decided on the font and effects we wanted for these that would fit with the theme of our trailer- this is what we are going to focus on next as I think it will help to make our trailer complete. Another factor which will help us finalise the trailer is adding more sound effects; we feel that in order to add more powerful impact to our trailer we want to find strong, horror themed sound effects; for example a shocking and frightening sound for jump scare.

Contact Sheets for Poster and Magazine
My group and I decided to do a photoshoot together as we all decided that we wanted to use the main victim of the trailer for our magazines and posters. We all had individual ideas that we put across and I explained to the girls the type of photos I wanted for my products and they took the pictures of me. We experimented with lighting, outfit and poses until we all had a selection of at least two that we liked.
Although we wanted the images to turn out dark and mysterious, the images below appear very, very dark. However, at the time, on the camera screen, we were able to see them clearly and they were brighter. Once we transferred them across to the computer, it was hard to see them but this wasn’t a problem because once I selected my chosen images, I opened them both in Photoshop and used the camera raw tool to up the exposure and adjust the other measurements to create the look I wanted.
